Soroptimist International of Camelback, held their Annual Community Service Awards breakfast on June 8, 2005 at the Phoenix Country Club. Donations and funds raised at our 2004 Annual Fashion Show/Dance Extravaganza were awarded to selected organizations that assist women, girls and families. Our club chose the following organizations as this years Annual Community Service Award Recipients:

Camelot Therapeutic Horsemanship – Our financial support will go towards Camelot's volunteer staff budget so they can continue to grow their volunteer program.

Arizona Women's Education and Employment, Inc. (AWEE) – Our financial support will go towards AWEE's Women at the Crossroads program. This money will help ensure that those needs are met, whether it is transportation, books, childcare, or short-term additional occupational training.

Maricopa Integrated Health System, Ryan White Title IV – Our financial support will fund one Sister-to-Sister program position for an entire year. This position is a peer educator to women who are newly diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and are new to the area or lack knowledge of services in this area and how to access those services.

Girls Ranch of Arizona – Our financial support will help fund support for their residential behavior management program including staff, utilities, food and supplies to work with teen girls and their families.

Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona - Our financial support will be used to support the Summer Enrichment & Leadership program. Each summer, scholars are enrolled in summer school and registered for extracurricular and leadership activities in which they can pursue and develop their individual talents and skills.

The Angel Society, Inc. – Our financial support will be used to support ten girls in state care that live in a group residential home the ability to experience and attend summer camps.

Junior Achievement – Our financial support will be used to support Junior Achievement's Exchange City . This is a city that is an innovative learning program that provides 5 th graders with an understanding of basis economic concepts as well as "consumer" skills they will use as adults.

Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center Our financial support will be used for their Gateway Program which is a therapeutic day care and pre-school for children of single mothers with children with autism.

Creighton, Murphy and Osborn School Districts Our financial support will be used to support three school districts that have a high level of students living in poverty. Monies will be used towards medicine for their nursing office, arts materials, field trips and out of class experiences, mentoring and tutoring.

Women Opportunity Awards – Two grants were awarded to inspiring single mothers to who have overcome great obstacles to assist them with fulfilling their goals of completing college degrees and supporting their families.
